Description

  • Own a broad book of business spanning new prospects and existing accounts.
  • Manage the full sales cycle from discovery and solution alignment through negotiation and close.
  • Articulate GitLab’s DevSecOps value proposition and connect it to customer business outcomes.
  • Document buying criteria, buying processes, next steps, and owners to maintain an evidence-based pipeline.
  • Analyze wins and losses and contribute to root-cause analyses with account, marketing, and technical teams.
  • Partner with technical teams and customer success to provide account leadership across pre-sales and post-sales.
  • Contribute best practices and process improvements to the sales handbook.
  • Represent the voice of the customer by sharing product feedback and ideas through the public issue tracker.

Requirements

  • Proven success in software sales, ideally in a commercial market context.
  • Experience managing a varied book of business.
  • Ability to guide customers through the full buying journey, including buying criteria, buying process, and next steps.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with business development, marketing, technical teams, and sales management.
  • Experience documenting and maintaining accurate pipeline data and account plans based on evidence.
  • Experience with win/loss analysis and root-cause analysis, with the ability to share insights to improve performance.
  • Proficiency in negotiation, customer presentations, and leading commercial discussions to close opportunities.
  • Interest in GitLab and open source software, with preferred familiarity with Git, software development tools, or application lifecycle management.
  • Alignment with GitLab’s values and willingness to travel in line with company policy.
  • Remote work eligibility in a country where GitLab hires, subject to any location-based requirements.
