Description

  • Manage and grow a portfolio of institutional partners across North America and serve as the primary point of contact.
  • Execute regional sales and account strategies, adapting global plans to the territory and identifying opportunities in key accounts and consortia.
  • Drive end-to-end sales activity, including outreach, proposal development, and contract negotiations.
  • Build long-term relationships with institutional stakeholders and support their publishing and Open Access goals.
  • Deliver presentations on Frontiers’ Open Access solutions and value proposition tailored to institutional needs.
  • Manage the sales pipeline and work toward revenue targets and territory performance goals.
  • Capture market intelligence on customer needs, competitors, and regional dynamics and turn it into actionable insights.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support retention, renewals, and long-term account growth.
  • Contribute to OKRs, sales playbooks, and process improvements based on field feedback.
  • Operate independently with accountability, solving complex challenges and continuously improving institutional sales approaches.

Requirements

  • Experience working with institutional clients such as universities, libraries, or research organizations.
  • Experience in B2B sales or account management within scholarly publishing, Open Access, academic services, or library/research-related environments.
  • Track record of contributing to sales targets and pipeline development in institutional or multi-stakeholder sales cycles.
  • Confidence in building relationships, presenting, and supporting negotiations with diverse stakeholders.
  • Comfort with outreach and business development activities such as email, calls, events, and conferences.
  • Good understanding of the research lifecycle and scholarly communication, with interest in Open Access and Open Science.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce or a similar CRM, and Excel for tracking activity and performance.
  • Ability to work independently in a target-driven environment with strong organization and time management.
  • Collaborative, proactive mindset and interest in working in an international, mission-driven environment.
