Description

  • Own end-to-end technical delivery from roadmap breakdown through production release.
  • Partner with Product and Engineering Managers to scope, sequence, and prioritize work.
  • Identify delivery risks, remove blockers, and maintain predictable sprint execution.
  • Drive production health through SLOs, on-call quality, alert hygiene, and root-cause follow-through.
  • Own domain architecture, including service boundaries, data models, event contracts, and integrations.
  • Write and review design documents and evaluate frameworks, tools, and third-party APIs.
  • Define and enforce engineering standards for coding, testing, reviews, branching, observability, and documentation.
  • Monitor and improve engineering quality metrics such as failure rate, escaped defects, MTTR, and cycle time.
  • Mentor engineers through design reviews, pairing, and code reviews; participate in technical hiring.
  • Coordinate cross-team dependencies and represent the domain in architecture and platform decisions.

Requirements

  • 8+ years building and operating production software, including 2+ years as a technical lead, staff engineer, or equivalent.
  • Strong backend expertise in Java with Spring Boot and/or Go, plus distributed systems and object-oriented design fundamentals.
  • Experience designing microservices and event-driven systems using Kafka or similar technologies.
  • Strong data modeling and SQL skills with PostgreSQL or equivalent; experience with Redis and performance tuning at scale.
  • Production experience with AWS, containerized deployments, CI/CD, and observability tooling.
  • Track record delivering complex, multi-quarter initiatives and identifying risks early.
  • Experience improving team engineering practices through standards, reviews, and mentorship.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, including the ability to write clear design documents.
  • Experience with Agile delivery tools and practices, including Jira, Confluence, Git branching, and rebasing.
  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Engineering, Technology, Computer Applications, or a related field; experience with distributed US–India teams and direct customer collaboration preferred.
