Description

  • Design, build, and operate large-scale distributed data systems for real-time and near-real-time analytics.
  • Lead the architecture and evolution of the Real-Time Analytics Platform, improving scalability, reliability, performance, and developer productivity.
  • Own platform capabilities from architecture and implementation through production operations, optimization, reliability, and lifecycle management.
  • Build and optimize services using Apache Flink, Spark Structured Streaming, ClickHouse, Apache Druid, and related technologies.
  • Integrate batch and streaming workloads through modern lakehouse architectures.
  • Develop AI-powered capabilities that improve data quality, platform operations, troubleshooting, and engineering productivity.
  • Establish standards for distributed systems, stream processing, data modeling, query optimization, and reliability.
  • Mentor engineers through architecture, design, and code reviews while providing technical leadership.
  • Collaborate with Product, Infrastructure, Security, Data Engineering, and Platform Engineering teams on technical strategy.
  • Lead incident response, root-cause analysis, production support, and reliability improvements.
  • Evaluate emerging technologies to improve scalability, reliability, cost efficiency, and developer productivity.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8+ years of experience designing and building large-scale distributed systems, particularly for real-time data processing, analytics, or data platforms.
  • Strong proficiency in Python for production-grade distributed systems and data-processing applications.
  • Experience with Scala is beneficial.
  • Hands-on experience with Apache Flink, Apache Spark Structured Streaming, or equivalent streaming technologies.
  • Production experience with ClickHouse, Apache Druid, or equivalent OLAP and analytics databases, including data modeling, query optimization, and performance tuning.
  • Experience with AWS MSK, Apache Kafka, or equivalent event-messaging platforms.
  • Experience applying AI/ML techniques and modern AI tooling to engineering workflows and data platforms.
  • Strong systems-design skills covering scalability, latency, throughput, consistency, reliability, and cost trade-offs.
  • Demonstrated technical leadership through architecture ownership, mentoring, and cross-team influence.
  • Experience with Databricks, Apache Iceberg, lakehouse architectures, multi-tenant self-service platforms, or globally distributed engineering teams is preferred.
