Description

  • Own the end-to-end architecture of the network automation platform across application, orchestration, data, integration, and security layers.
  • Design, build, and maintain a Python-based network-as-code platform using Ansible and Terraform where appropriate.
  • Develop backend services in Python (Flask) and contribute to frontend development in JavaScript with Angular or React and Bootstrap.
  • Define and govern API-first architectures, including service contracts, versioning, authentication, and authorization.
  • Design platform data models across document, graph, and timeseries databases to represent network state and service intent.
  • Own the customer-facing service APIs for catalog, feasibility, ordering, provisioning status, and lifecycle operations.
  • Automate lifecycle delivery for L3VPN, Data Center Interconnect, IP Transit, Layer 2 transport, and cloud connectivity services.
  • Design vendor abstraction and device driver frameworks across Arista, Cisco, and Fortinet platforms.
  • Implement state reconciliation, configuration drift detection, and automated remediation across the managed estate.
  • Set architectural standards, approve technical designs, mentor engineers, and participate in on-call and incident response.
  • Establish platform security, change safety, rollback, and audit/compliance controls for automated production changes.
  • Drive roadmap, enterprise integrations, observability alignment, and cross-functional architecture collaboration.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of relevant technical experience, including 3+ years in a principal, staff, or lead architect role with design authority.
  • 8+ years of platform/software engineering experience with production software ownership, Python service development, API design, data modeling, and release engineering.
  • 8+ years of network and security domain experience with MPLS L3VPN, BGP/MP-BGP/VPNv4, EVPN-VXLAN, OSPF/IS-IS, DCI, IP transit, and multi-vendor firewall policy.
  • 6+ years of network automation and orchestration experience across multi-vendor estates.
  • 5+ years of GitOps/CI/CD experience, including pipeline authoring, automated validation, and tested rollback.
  • 4+ years of network security engineering experience, including firewall automation, RBAC, secrets management, change authorization, and audit evidence.
  • 4+ years of technical leadership experience setting architectural standards, governing design review, and mentoring senior engineers.
  • 3+ years of data engineering experience with document, graph, and timeseries data models.
  • 3+ years of systems engineering and NMS experience, including Linux administration and operational tooling integration.
  • 2+ years of frontend development experience with JavaScript and Angular or React plus Bootstrap.
  • Experience integrating with ServiceNow, operating automation at scale, or applying AI/ML to operations is preferred.
  • Experience with OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Grafana, Kubernetes, Helm, or container-based deployment is preferred.
  • Other training and experience may be substituted at the manager’s discretion.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and reside in an eligible state at hire and throughout employment.
  • Travel may be required for team or project events.
