Description

  • Design low-latency service architectures on AWS using appropriate distributed components.
  • Define systems around explicit p95/p99 latency budgets, including durable synchronous commits.
  • Architect audit and evidence systems with append-only logs, versioned or bitemporal models, and deterministic replay.
  • Design fail-open, fail-closed, and degraded-state behaviors for outage scenarios.
  • Architect secure multi-tenant platforms and evaluate tenant-isolation strategies.
  • Design and build scalable RESTful APIs and SDK integrations.
  • Create capacity models and cloud cost/performance projections using the AWS Well-Architected Framework.
  • Establish technical standards, conduct architecture and code reviews, and mentor engineering teams.
  • Produce architecture documentation, diagrams, and technical decision records.
  • Present and defend architecture decisions in client engineering and security reviews.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of professional software development experience, including 3+ years in an architecture-focused role.
  • Substantial experience architecting complex systems end to end.
  • Deep expertise with AWS, PostgreSQL/AuroraDB, and PostgreSQL Row-Level Security.
  • Strong Node.js, TypeScript, and JavaScript experience across the stack.
  • Expertise designing scalable RESTful APIs and service integrations.
  • Experience with audit systems, event-driven architecture, queues, caching, and outage-state semantics.
  • Experience with secure multi-tenant architecture and tradeoff analysis.
  • Experience using AI coding assistants in daily development.
  • Strong technical leadership, problem-solving, ownership, accountability, and attention to detail.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
  • Experience in compliance-sensitive or regulated domains preferred.
  • Ability to overlap US business hours and maintain a client-focused approach.
