Description

  • Design end-to-end architectures for complex, low-latency AWS systems.
  • Define latency budgets, synchronous durable commits, and outage or degraded-state behavior.
  • Architect audit and evidence systems with append-only logs, versioned or bitemporal models, and deterministic replay.
  • Design secure multi-tenant environments using appropriate database isolation strategies.
  • Develop scalable RESTful APIs and SDK integrations with external services.
  • Build capacity models and cloud cost/performance projections using the AWS Well-Architected Framework.
  • Establish technical standards, conduct architecture and code reviews, and mentor engineering teams.
  • Produce architecture documentation, diagrams, and technical decision records.
  • Present and defend architecture decisions during client engineering and security reviews.
  • Collaborate with clients and delivery teams across varied consulting projects.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of professional software development experience, including 3+ years in architecture-focused roles.
  • Substantial experience architecting large, complex systems end to end.
  • Deep AWS experience designing low-latency service architectures.
  • Experience designing to explicit p95/p99 latency budgets.
  • Experience with audit systems, append-only event logs, versioned or bitemporal data models, and historical replay.
  • Experience designing fail-open, fail-closed, and degraded-state semantics.
  • Experience architecting secure multi-tenant systems and evaluating RLS, schema-per-tenant, and database-per-tenant approaches.
  • Deep PostgreSQL/AuroraDB and Row-Level Security experience at the data-modeling and architecture level.
  • Expertise with Node.js, TypeScript, JavaScript, scalable REST APIs, and SDK integrations.
  • Strong technical leadership, problem-solving, ownership, communication, and documentation skills.
  • Experience with AI coding assistants and ability to overlap US business hours.
  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
  • Experience in regulated domains and with event-driven systems, queues, and caching preferred.
