Description

  • Lead and grow multiple engineering teams delivering reliable, scalable, cost-effective software.
  • Partner with Product and Platform leaders to shape priorities, sequencing, and technical strategy.
  • Own domain strategy and execution across adjacent areas to ensure decisions scale beyond the immediate team.
  • Build organizational health by attracting, developing, retaining, and planning succession for engineering talent.
  • Drive operational excellence with clear reliability, performance, and cost goals.
  • Improve developer experience by setting DX goals and removing friction in tools, processes, and platform capabilities.
  • Resolve architectural contention and guide teams toward pragmatic, maintainable solutions.
  • Communicate outcomes, KPIs, metrics, and org health updates to executives and key stakeholders.
  • Represent the organization as needed, including occasional travel for conferences, events, meetings, and team-building activities.

Requirements

  • 10+ years in software engineering experience.
  • 5+ years leading leaders, including managing engineering managers.
  • Proven ability to lead multiple teams and set engineering quality and delivery standards.
  • Strong architecture and system design skills with the ability to decompose complex initiatives across teams.
  • Deep backend and distributed systems experience designing and operating scalable, reliable services.
  • Strong judgment on prioritization and resourcing, with the ability to build a clear business case when needed.
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional leadership in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
  • Experience thriving in fast-paced, high-growth startup environments is preferred.
  • Experience with Kotlin and Kotlin MP is preferred.
  • Experience creating, influencing, and leading cross-functional matrixed teams on complex, organization-wide initiatives is preferred.

Benefits

  • Base salary range of $193,000 to $318,000 USD.
  • Bonus eligibility in addition to base pay.
  • Full-time employment.

  • Potential in-person onboarding and cultural immersion experiences, such as Launching into Better: LIVE in New York City, depending on role and location.
