Description

  • Lead engineering for MetaDefender Managed File Transfer across air-gapped, cross-domain, internet-connected, and native-cloud deployment environments.
  • Stay hands-on in the codebase by setting architecture patterns, writing and reviewing critical code, prototyping, and unblocking technical issues.
  • Own end-to-end delivery of the product roadmap from execution planning through release.
  • Define the technical direction and make architecture and technology decisions for high-assurance, scaled environments.
  • Recruit, develop, and retain engineers and engineering leads across Romania, Vietnam, and Hungary.
  • Set and enforce performance expectations, manage underperformance, and build a high-performance engineering culture.
  • Champion security-first quality practices, including rigorous review of both human-written and AI-generated code.
  • Improve engineering velocity through better CI/CD, AI-assisted workflows, incident response, and operational maturity.
  • Create reusable AI-native practices, playbooks, context files, and test/review norms for broader adoption across OPSWAT.
  • Partner with Product, Design, and security leaders to translate roadmap priorities into committed engineering plans.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of software engineering experience.
  • 3+ years leading engineering teams, including managing managers or leads, in complex product delivery at scale.
  • Full end-to-end experience running an agentic, AI-powered SDLC in B2B and high-security enterprise environments.
  • Demonstrable experience launching a product through a full AI-assisted lifecycle, from spec generation to deployment.
  • Strong software engineering fundamentals, including design patterns, SOLID principles, and modern architecture.
  • Experience building scalable, distributed systems with relational or document databases, cloud-native services, and modern CI/CD systems.
  • High test discipline and the ability to validate that AI-generated test coverage is meaningful.
  • Experience leading distributed teams across countries and time zones in remote or hybrid environments.
  • Ability to communicate technical decisions clearly to non-technical stakeholders and attract strong engineers.
  • Security-first mindset for design, code review, and incident response in critical infrastructure environments.
  • Preferred: experience in managed file transfer, secure content delivery, data security, or critical infrastructure markets.
  • Preferred: hands-on or managerial experience with .NET Core / C#.
  • Preferred: experience with cloud-native SaaS platforms using Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS/Azure/GCP.
  • Preferred: experience writing AI context files such as CLAUDE.md or .cursorrules.
  • Preferred: familiarity using AI agents inside CI/CD pipelines for linting, test generation, or safe migrations.
  • Preferred: experience maintaining engineering culture across multiple countries and time zones.
  • Preferred: experience validating concurrency and thread-safety in high-throughput services.
