Description

  • Lead the design and implementation of scalable, maintainable systems aligned with business and technical requirements.
  • Develop and maintain backend services, RESTful APIs, and Next.js API routes with a primary focus on backend work.
  • Design SQL database schemas, write complex queries, and optimize queries, indexing, and performance.
  • Implement and maintain ORMs and data access patterns using tools such as Prisma, TypeORM, or Sequelize.
  • Create well-documented APIs using OpenAPI/Swagger for frontend and mobile integration.
  • Provide technical leadership through code reviews, mentoring junior engineers, and enforcing coding standards.
  • Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks in systems, databases, and APIs to improve reliability and availability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including .NET Core developers and product managers, to deliver solutions.
  • Implement security best practices and ensure backend systems meet relevant security and compliance requirements.
  • Deploy and manage applications in Azure, support CI/CD pipelines, and work with Docker and GitHub Actions.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of professional software development experience, with a focus on Node and React technologies.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong backend expertise with Node.js 20 LTS and frameworks such as Express.js, Fastify, or NestJS.
  • Experience with Next 15+, React 19+, React Native 0.80+, and Expo SDK 54+.
  • Advanced SQL experience with PostgreSQL, MySQL, or SQL Server, including schema design, indexing, and performance tuning.
  • Experience with ORMs such as Prisma, TypeORM, or Sequelize.
  • Proven experience designing, building, and documenting RESTful APIs; GraphQL or tRPC is a plus.
  • Hands-on experience with Azure services, Docker, and CI/CD pipelines such as Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.
  • Experience with backend testing frameworks such as Jest, Mocha, or Supertest, and test-driven development practices.
  • Experience with authentication and authorization using JWT, OAuth, Azure AD, or similar, plus familiarity with Redis, BullMQ, Sentry, and Azure Application Insights.
  • Must live in the Dallas-Fort Worth, TX area or be willing to relocate, and must have a dedicated private work area with high-speed internet during weekdays 9-5 CST.
  • Healthcare software development experience is a bonus.
