Description

  • Design, develop, implement, and maintain RESTful API integrations across applications, services, databases, and external systems.
  • Configure API requests, endpoints, workflows, and data exchange processes.
  • Implement data mapping, transformation, validation, and serialization using JSON, XML, and other structured formats.
  • Develop and execute integration tests to validate API functionality, data accuracy, error handling, and interoperability.
  • Troubleshoot connectivity, authentication, performance, and data-discrepancy issues; investigate root causes and coordinate fixes.
  • Implement logging, monitoring, retry mechanisms, exception handling, and secure authentication practices.
  • Monitor and improve integration response times, reliability, scalability, and security.
  • Create and maintain API specifications, integration workflows, data mappings, configuration details, and troubleshooting documentation.
  • Collaborate with developers, data engineers, QA, architects, and stakeholders on requirements, design, testing, and deployments.
  • Maintain and enhance existing integrations and identify automation opportunities for development, testing, and deployment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Information Technology; or an associate degree plus 2 years of experience.
  • At least 3 years of professional experience in systems integration, API development, application development, or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of hands-on experience developing, implementing, and supporting RESTful API integrations.
  • Strong knowledge of REST principles, HTTP methods, status codes, request/response structures, and API design.
  • Experience with JSON, XML, and structured data formats.
  • Proficiency in Python, Java, JavaScript, C#, or another programming or scripting language.
  • Experience testing and troubleshooting APIs with Postman, Swagger/OpenAPI, or comparable tools.
  • Knowledge of OAuth 2.0, API keys, token-based authentication, and secure API practices.
  • Must reside in the Continental U.S. and be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
  • Ability to complete a background check and, if required, obtain a Public Trust designation or security clearance.
  • Experience with government contracting, healthcare/CMS, healthcare IT, or regulated interoperability environments (preferred).
  • Experience with API gateways, middleware, cloud integrations, message queues, event-driven architecture, Git, automated testing, CI/CD, SQL, HL7 FHIR, or OpenAPI standards (preferred).
