Description

  • Build and evolve the Elastic MCP server and its underlying infrastructure in Go.
  • Develop the universal agent skills platform, including the portable format, authoring and publishing tooling, and linting.
  • Set the correctness bar by ensuring shipped skills and tools are validated through evaluations.
  • Design and deliver integrations that make Elastic available inside third-party AI ecosystems.
  • Work closely with product teams and external partners to shape and launch integrations.
  • Contribute to the Elastic CLI to improve developer and agent efficiency.
  • Develop, maintain, and support libraries, tools, and integrations related to the Elastic Stack.
  • Work across multiple languages, including Go and Rust, in a mixed codebase.
  • Engage with the developer community and collaborate on team and cross-functional initiatives.
  • Bring product thinking to decisions about what to build and why.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of software engineering experience working on backend systems, services, or libraries.
  • Proficiency with AI/ML frameworks and a working understanding of LLMs, agents, agent skills, and protocols such as MCP.
  • Significant recent hands-on experience with Go, ideally plus other languages.
  • Knowledge of client-server networking, HTTP, and RESTful APIs.
  • Ability to read and contribute to codebases in unfamiliar languages.
  • Knowledge of industry best practices in software engineering.
  • Strong product thinking and interest in the broader ecosystem.
  • Strong focus on usability and developer experience.
  • Comfort with context switching in a fast-changing environment.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills, including with customers and external partners.
  • Willingness to work as part of a remote, globally distributed team.
  • Clear thinking, self-motivation, and the ability to learn and work independently.
  • Experience building or operating infrastructure, and interest in telemetry and observability, is a plus.
  • Connection to technical communities through open source projects, blogs, or talks is a plus.
  • Experience working with third-party or partner engineering teams is a plus.
  • Prior experience with Elastic products is a plus.

  • Base salary only, with no variable compensation component.
  • Typical starting salary range of €61,100 to €96,600 EUR.
