Description

  • Design, build, and maintain low-latency API services and scalable RESTful APIs in AWS.
  • Develop backend systems using Node.js, TypeScript, and JavaScript.
  • Integrate applications with external services through SDKs.
  • Design and manage PostgreSQL/AuroraDB schemas, migrations, and Row-Level Security policies.
  • Build secure multi-tenant environments and contribute to large, complex systems.
  • Develop and maintain CI/CD applications and pipelines.
  • Implement integration, database, failure-mode, and fault-injection testing.
  • Contribute to React and other frontend work when needed.
  • Collaborate with clients and consulting teams to deliver high-quality project outcomes.
  • Apply best practices while taking ownership and accountability for deliverables.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of professional backend-focused software development experience.
  • Strong professional experience with Node.js, TypeScript, and JavaScript.
  • Experience building low-latency AWS services and scalable RESTful APIs.
  • Experience with SDK integrations and PostgreSQL/AuroraDB, including Row-Level Security.
  • Experience writing raw SQL and managing schema migrations with tools such as node-postgres or node-pg-migrate.
  • Professional experience with React and full-stack development.
  • Strong testing practices, including integration tests against real databases and fault-injection testing.
  • Experience with CI/CD application creation and maintenance.
  • Experience using AI coding assistants in daily development.
  • Experience working with large, complex systems and secure multi-tenant environments.
  • Ability to overlap with US business hours and a bachelor's degree.
  • Strong ownership, problem-solving, attention to detail, client focus, and adherence to best practices.
  • Experience with append-only, event-sourced, or bitemporal data models is preferred.
  • Experience with Fastify, schema-first validation such as Zod, AWS Fargate/ECS, or compliance-sensitive domains is preferred.
