Description

  • Drive the technical vision and architecture for the Aerial Capture team, including key architectural decisions and clean code standards.
  • Serve as a primary code contributor and lead projects end to end from design through delivery.
  • Develop and test software that integrates with autonomous drones, sensor payloads, and field hardware systems.
  • Collaborate across teams to design scalable, reliable, and innovative systems and unblock teammates quickly.
  • Provide hands-on mentorship, pairing, and direct technical feedback to raise the team’s technical bar.
  • Own system health, including reliability, maintainability, performance, and technical debt reduction.
  • Act as the technical voice for the team in cross-functional discussions with engineering managers and stakeholders.
  • Use AI tooling to accelerate debugging, prototyping, and code exploration while maintaining quality and correctness.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of professional full stack software development experience with production-grade software delivery.
  • Strong proficiency in TypeScript and experience with Python.
  • Experience with Angular v20+ or similar modern JavaScript frameworks such as React or Vue.js.
  • Experience with RESTful and RPC API design, including authentication, versioning, and third-party integrations.
  • Experience with modern databases such as PostgreSQL and MongoDB.
  • Experience designing automated testing strategies, including unit, integration, and end-to-end testing, with tools such as Jest or Pytest.
  • Familiarity with microservices, modular architectures, and event-driven systems.
  • Experience with Java/Kotlin and Go is a plus.
  • Android app development experience is a plus.
  • Available during core team overlap hours from 7:00 AM to 2:00 PM PT, with meetings sometimes between 2:00 PM and 4:00 PM PT.
  • Occasional domestic travel for training, customer site or field visits, and company events.
