Description

  • Own the architecture and operation of Distro’s asynchronous, multi-stage AI processing pipeline.
  • Build full-stack features using Laravel on the backend and React on the frontend.
  • Own AWS infrastructure, including ECS, Aurora/RDS, S3, monitoring, reliability, and cost control.
  • Maintain SOC 2 Type 2 compliance through evidence collection, control remediation, access reviews, and backup restoration testing.
  • Lead a team of 2–3 engineers through code review, technical direction, unblocking, mentoring, and growth conversations.
  • Design systems for reliable handling of non-deterministic model outputs, failures, retries, and observability.
  • Contribute to product decisions and challenge feature direction when appropriate.
  • Respond to incidents and improve system resilience, operational processes, and engineering outcomes.

Requirements

  • 5+ years building and operating production systems as a full-stack engineer.
  • Strong PHP/Laravel experience or equivalent modern backend experience with willingness to work in Laravel.
  • Professional experience with React and JavaScript/TypeScript.
  • Hands-on AWS ownership, including ECS, Aurora/RDS, monitoring, incident response, and cost optimization.
  • Experience with asynchronous job processing, including queues, workers, retries, idempotency, and dead-letter handling.
  • Production experience with the OpenAI API, including completions, structured outputs, vector stores, non-deterministic outputs, and token-cost control.
  • Fluency with AI-assisted development, including repo-level planning and review using tools such as Claude Code.
  • Experience leading or mentoring engineers.
  • Professional working English.
  • Experience with SOC 2 or similar compliance, ATS/HR technology, infrastructure as code, or MCP and agentic workflows is preferred.
