Description

  • Hire, mentor, and develop software engineers from junior through staff levels while building future engineering leadership.
  • Partner with Product, Design, Customer Success, Support, Sales, and engineering teams to define vision, prioritize roadmaps, and shape long-term strategy.
  • Own delivery, operational excellence, and business outcomes for the team’s portfolio of user-facing systems.
  • Ensure systems remain performant, reliable, secure, and scalable.
  • Set architectural guardrails and guide major technical decisions without serving as a hands-on contributor.
  • Lead the transition from manual incentive compensation workflows to AI- and agent-driven experiences.
  • Improve team processes and collaboration across the company.
  • Contribute to broader engineering leadership initiatives and uphold CaptivateIQ’s core values.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation for after-hours critical issue resolution and system uptime.

Requirements

  • 5+ years managing software engineers, preferably in a remote-first B2B SaaS or startup environment.
  • 8+ years of full-time software development experience, preferably in product engineering or full-stack roles.
  • Demonstrated success hiring, mentoring, and developing engineering talent.
  • Strong user focus and a record of delivering high-quality features across the product lifecycle.
  • Technical depth sufficient to evaluate complex architectures and guide senior engineers.
  • Experience with, or a strong perspective on, AI-native product development and agent-based automation.
  • Exceptional written, verbal, and cross-functional communication skills in a remote-first environment.
  • High ownership, growth mindset, collaboration, humility, and comfort with ambiguity and rapid change.
  • Must be located in the United States or Canada.
