Description

  • Own the technical workstream from project inception through launch, including implementation plans, technical stories, sequencing, estimates, risks, and definitions of done.
  • Design and build production-quality AEM website components, integrations, services, workflows, and performance-sensitive features using Java, HTML5, JavaScript, and CSS.
  • Establish coding standards and patterns for AEM, Sling Models, OSGi services, servlets, schedulers, testing, configuration, responsive design, and observability.
  • Lead code reviews, pair with engineers, mentor team members, and support smaller delivery teams.
  • Partner with QA and DevOps on automated testing, security, accessibility, performance, build gates, observability, and deployment readiness.
  • Define API contracts and integration behavior, including authentication, payloads, retries, timeouts, failure handling, and system ownership.
  • Investigate defects, build failures, environment issues, and performance problems to unblock delivery.
  • Collaborate with the CMS Architect to translate architecture decisions into codebase conventions and resolve technical tradeoffs.
  • Lead client workshops, presentations, demos, and technical communications for engineering, product, and executive stakeholders.
  • Support UAT, hardening, launch, hypercare, and post-release support while improving delivery practices through documentation, reusable patterns, and GenAI tools.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of professional software engineering experience, including technical leadership of engineering teams.
  • Experience delivering production websites or digital platforms and developing and supporting AEM-based solutions.
  • Strong Java, HTML5, JavaScript, and CSS experience with full-stack technical depth.
  • Experience with consulting, client communication, technical leadership, and explaining tradeoffs to varied stakeholders.
  • Hands-on experience using GenAI development tools such as Gemini CLI, Claude Code, or Codex.
  • Understanding of core LLM concepts and practical judgment about AI use cases.
  • Experience with APIs, microservices, data sources, distributed systems, secure authentication, resilient error handling, and frontend performance.
  • Strong engineering standards across testing, accessibility, security, performance, observability, and CI/CD.
  • Knowledge of responsive and mobile-first design, cross-browser compatibility, Core Web Vitals, accessibility standards, and SEO-aware frontend architecture.
  • Preferred: deep AEM expertise across Sling, OSGi, JCR/Oak, HTL, Clientlibs, AEM Cloud Service, Cloud Manager, Dispatcher, Edge Delivery Services, Universal Editor, Assets, Fragments, MSM, or headless delivery; Adobe ecosystem experience, mentoring or multi-team leadership, and Adobe certification are also valued.
