Description

  • Own the technical workstream from project inception through launch, including implementation plans, technical stories, sequencing, estimates, risks, and definitions of done.
  • Design and build production website components, integrations, services, workflows, and performance-sensitive features using AEM, Java, HTML5, JavaScript, and CSS.
  • Establish coding standards and patterns for AEM components, Sling Models, OSGi services, workflows, testing, logging, configuration, and responsive web development.
  • Review code, pair with engineers, mentor team members, and lead smaller delivery teams when needed.
  • Partner with QA and DevOps on automated testing, security, accessibility, performance, observability, CI/CD, and deployment readiness.
  • Define API contracts and integration behavior, including authentication, retries, timeouts, payloads, and failure handling.
  • Investigate defects, environment issues, build failures, and performance problems to unblock delivery.
  • Collaborate with the CMS Architect to turn architecture decisions into practical codebase conventions and resolve technical tradeoffs.
  • Lead client workshops, presentations, demos, and technical communications for engineers, product stakeholders, and executives.
  • Support UAT, hardening, launch, hypercare, and ongoing operational readiness while improving delivery practices through documentation, reusable patterns, and GenAI tools.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of professional software engineering experience, including leadership of technical delivery for engineering teams.
  • Production experience designing, developing, and supporting AEM-based websites or digital platforms.
  • Strong consulting, communication, leadership, and technical tradeoff communication skills.
  • Practical full-stack experience with Java, HTML5, JavaScript, and CSS.
  • Hands-on experience with GenAI development tools such as Gemini CLI, Claude Code, or Codex.
  • Understanding of core LLM concepts and the ability to identify valuable AI use cases.
  • Experience with APIs, microservices, external data sources, distributed systems, secure authentication, resilient error handling, and frontend performance.
  • Knowledge of testing, accessibility, security, performance, observability, CI/CD, responsive design, Core Web Vitals, SEO, and cross-browser compatibility.
  • Ability to navigate unfamiliar codebases, diagnose root causes, and make targeted improvements without unnecessary rewrites.
  • Preferred: Deep AEM knowledge including Sling, OSGi, JCR/Oak, HTL, Clientlibs, Sling Models, workflows, AEM as a Cloud Service, Cloud Manager, Dispatcher, Universal Editor, or headless delivery.
  • Preferred: Experience with Adobe Skills, Adobe Commerce, App Builder, API Mesh, Workfront, Analytics integrations, or Adobe certification.
  • Preferred: Experience mentoring engineers and leading distributed or cross-functional teams.
