Description

  • Partner with the Sales team to communicate Datadog’s value proposition, vision, and strategy to customers.
  • Own technical engagement with customers during the trial phase and help resolve issues or concerns to a successful conclusion.
  • Technically close complex opportunities using competitive knowledge, technical skill, and credibility.
  • Deliver product and technical briefings and presentations to potential clients.
  • Maintain accurate customer notes and feedback in CRM for both wins and losses.
  • Proactively communicate with customers and Datadog technical and business teams about product feedback and the competitive landscape.
  • Support technical evaluations and proof-of-value activities with customers and partners.
  • Provide input to the product team to help prioritize features based on customer, competitor, and partner feedback.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in a Sales Engineering or DevOps Engineering role.
  • Experience with programming or scripting in one or more of the following: Java, Python, Ruby, Go, Node.js, PHP, or .NET.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to understand and articulate both business value and technical advantages to customers.
  • Ability to sit for up to 4 hours while traveling to and from client sites.
  • Ability to travel by auto, train, or air up to 45% of the time.
  • Passion for educating customers on observability risks and building evaluation plans with customers.
  • Willingness to grow skills, even if not meeting every qualification on day one.
