Description

  • Partner with the Sales team to present Datadog’s value proposition, vision, and strategy to customers.
  • Own technical engagement with customers during the trial phase and drive evaluation activities to successful completion.
  • Support and close complex opportunities using competitive knowledge, technical credibility, and product expertise.
  • Deliver product briefings and technical presentations to prospective clients.
  • Maintain accurate customer notes and feedback in CRM, including wins and losses.
  • Proactively communicate customer feedback and competitive insights to Datadog business and technical teams.
  • Collaborate with customers and partners on technical evaluations and proof-of-value activities.
  • Provide input to the product team to help prioritize features based on customer, competitor, and partner feedback.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in a Sales Engineering or DevOps Engineering role.
  • Experience programming or scripting in one or more of the following: Java, Python, Ruby, Go, Node.JS, PHP, or .NET.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to understand and explain both business value and technical advantages of a product.
  • Ability to build and execute an evaluation plan with a customer.
  • Willingness and ability to travel by auto, train, or air up to 45% of the time.
  • Ability to sit for up to 4 hours while traveling to and from client sites.
  • Passion for educating customers on observability risks and technology solutions.
  • Experience working with customers, partners, or technical sales engagements is preferred.
