Description

  • Partner with the Sales team to present Datadog’s value proposition, vision, and strategy to customers.
  • Own technical engagement with customers during the trial phase and guide them to a successful conclusion.
  • Support technical evaluations and proof-of-value (POV) activities with customers and partners.
  • Technically close complex opportunities using competitive knowledge, technical expertise, and credibility.
  • Deliver product demonstrations, technical briefings, and presentations to prospective clients.
  • Maintain accurate customer notes and feedback in CRM, including win/loss input.
  • Proactively share customer feedback and competitive insights with Datadog business and technical teams.
  • Help prioritize product features by conveying input from customers, competitors, and partners.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in a Sales Engineering or DevOps Engineering role.
  • Experience with programming or scripting in Java, Python, Ruby, Go, Node.JS, PHP, .NET, or similar languages.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to understand and explain both business value and technical advantages.
  • Ability to build and execute an evaluation plan with a customer.
  • Willingness to travel by auto, train, or air up to 45% of the time.
  • Ability to sit for up to 4 hours while traveling to and from client sites.
  • Passion for educating customers on observability risks relevant to their business.
  • Preferred: interest in growing technical skills even if you do not meet every qualification on day one.
