Description

  • Partner with the Sales team to communicate Datadog’s value proposition, vision, and strategy to customers.
  • Own technical engagement with customers during the trial phase and help resolve issues or concerns to a successful conclusion.
  • Technically close complex opportunities using competitive knowledge, technical skill, and credibility.
  • Deliver product and technical briefings and presentations to prospective clients.
  • Maintain accurate customer notes and feedback in CRM, including wins and losses.
  • Proactively share customer and partner feedback with Datadog business and technical teams.
  • Support technical evaluations and proof-of-value activities with customers and partners.
  • Provide input to the product team to help prioritize features based on customer, competitor, and partner feedback.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in Sales Engineering or DevOps Engineering.
  • Experience with programming or scripting in one or more of the following: Java, Python, Ruby, Go, Node.js, PHP, or .NET.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to understand and explain both business value and technical advantages of the offering.
  • Ability to build and execute an evaluation plan with a customer.
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 45% of the time via auto, train, or air.
  • Ability to sit for up to 4 hours while traveling to and from client sites.
  • Experience educating customers on observability risks that matter to their business.
  • Interest in growing skills in a technology-focused environment, even if not meeting every qualification on day one.
