Description

  • Partner with customers to design scalable data architectures using Databricks technology and services.
  • Work with Account Executives and other partners to develop account strategies and grow platform usage.
  • Establish the Databricks Lakehouse architecture as the standard data architecture for customers through technical account planning.
  • Build and present reference architectures and demo applications for prospects.
  • Consult on big data architectures, data engineering pipelines, and data science and machine learning projects.
  • Validate Databricks integrations with cloud services and third-party applications.
  • Engage with customer technical leads, including architects, engineers, and operations teams, to build trusted advisory relationships.
  • Represent customer needs across Databricks teams and executive leadership.
  • Promote Databricks open-source projects such as Spark, Delta Lake, MLflow, and Koalas through meetups, conferences, and webinars.
  • Report to the Field Engineering Manager and support strategic customer projects to prove out the Databricks platform.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in a customer-facing pre-sales, technical architecture, or consulting role.
  • Experience with at least one of the following areas: big data engineering, data warehousing and ETL, data science and machine learning, or data applications.
  • Experience translating customer business needs into technology solutions and building stakeholder buy-in.
  • Experience designing, architecting, and presenting data systems for customers.
  • Experience managing the delivery of production solutions for data architectures.
  • Fluency in SQL and database technology.
  • Debugging and development experience in at least one of Python, Scala, Java, or R.
  • Experience with public cloud providers such as AWS, Azure, or GCP is preferred.
  • A degree in a quantitative discipline such as Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or Operations Research is preferred.
  • Ability to travel to customers in your region up to 30% of the time.

  • Canada salary range of $160,500 to $246,100 CAD.
