Description

  • Serve as a member of customer project teams focused on design, architecture, integration, implementation, and documentation.
  • Conduct research, benchmarking, performance testing, functional testing, reference architecture development, sizing, migration, integration, development, and tooling work.
  • Provide consultative support to strategic users, customers, and prospects for implementation, onboarding, production launches, and proof of concepts.
  • Deliver architectural, technical, and migration assistance, including hands-on troubleshooting and implementation tasks.
  • Handle L1 to L3 support cases and customer communications when not assigned to larger projects.
  • Partner with Product Management, Engineering, and Sales to inform the product roadmap and account plans.
  • Develop and maintain public and internal documentation, knowledge base articles, learning materials, reference architectures, blogs, and benchmark results.
  • Assist with hiring and mentoring new team members as the team grows.
  • Support scheduling and on-call coverage to provide 24x7 global support, including onsite regional travel when needed.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in Professional Services, Support, Technical Account Management, Engineering/SRE, or Project Management roles.
  • 5+ years of experience implementing, operating, or supporting scalable, fault-tolerant, distributed database management systems.
  • Broad and deep technical knowledge in DBMS, OLAP, cloud/SaaS platforms, distributed systems, Linux/Unix, Kubernetes, system or network administration, and big data.
  • Experience leading and delivering large-scope technical projects with multiple experienced engineers.
  • Hands-on experience with a public cloud provider such as AWS, GCP, or Azure and its infrastructure-as-a-service offerings such as EC2.
  • Experience with ClickHouse is a bonus.
  • Experience with open-source software and communities as a user, contributor, or member is preferred.
  • Experience with data pipeline technologies such as Kafka, Kinesis, Spark, or RabbitMQ is a plus.
  • Ability to work in a customer-facing, collaborative role with strong communication skills.
  • Willingness to participate in scheduling, on-call coverage, and up to 35% estimated onsite regional travel.
