Description

  • Build, install, configure, upgrade, and maintain physical and virtual infrastructure.
  • Ensure systems are delivered quickly and operate with high availability.
  • Work with the development team to design fast, scalable systems.
  • Script and automate tasks using tools such as BASH/sh, PHP, Python, or Perl.
  • Monitor system health and configuration proactively and take corrective actions based on standard operating procedures.
  • Identify and remove performance bottlenecks in existing systems.
  • Apply system upgrades, firmware updates, and infrastructure changes.
  • Provide 24x7 on-call support on a rotating basis and work outside normal business hours as needed.
  • Collaborate with multiple development groups and customers across different systems.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience administering Linux/UNIX systems.
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as Amazon AWS, DigitalOcean, and Linode.
  • Understanding of container technologies including Docker, Podman, LXC, and Kubernetes.
  • Understanding of PHP and how to set up and configure it effectively.
  • DevOps experience is desirable.
  • Experience with networking tools and technologies such as HAProxy, container ingress, routing, and firewalls (iptables or nftables).
  • Strong understanding of TCP/IP, HTTP, SMTP, and DNS sufficient to debug common problems.
  • Experience with Nginx, PHP, MySQL, Redis, or Varnish is a distinct advantage.
  • Creative problem-solving ability and adaptability to new technologies.
  • Excellent communication and time-management skills.
