Description

  • Serve as the primary escalation point for Tier 1–3 technical support across Windows and macOS environments.
  • Own employee onboarding and offboarding, including account provisioning, device setup, training, and access revocation.
  • Manage IAM strategy, access reviews, role assignments, SSO, least-privilege enforcement, and access records.
  • Administer Microsoft Intune, Microsoft 365, Microsoft Defender, Google Workspace, Slack, and other SaaS tools.
  • Enforce endpoint security policies covering encryption, patching, MFA, conditional access, and compliance.
  • Manage device procurement, inventory, shipping, repairs, lifecycle tracking, and physical logistics.
  • Resolve tickets within SLAs and maintain documentation, troubleshooting guides, and IT processes.
  • Partner with the CISO on access-related security requests, remediation, and endpoint and identity security.
  • Monitor and maintain patch management, endpoint compliance, and Microsoft Defender across the device fleet.
  • Establish scalable IT standards and processes for a growing distributed organization.

Requirements

  • 7+ years of IT support or operations experience, including experience as a senior or sole IT resource.
  • Startup experience operating as a one-person IT department across infrastructure, security, device management, IAM, and end-user support.
  • Strong knowledge of endpoint protection, identity and access security, encryption, patch management, and remote-work security practices.
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Intune, Microsoft Defender, Microsoft 365, Google Workspace, and patch management tools such as Atera.
  • Experience supporting both Windows and macOS environments.
  • Experience owning IAM strategy, onboarding/offboarding, ticketing systems, and SLA-based support.
  • Understanding of PHI and HIPAA requirements.
  • Strong communication, customer service, patience, and ability to explain technical issues to nontechnical users.
  • Ability to work independently, manage ambiguity and competing priorities, and support a remote team.
  • Willingness to handle company equipment at home for shipping, receiving, storage, and repairs.
  • Must reside in the United States Eastern Time Zone; remote hiring is limited to the contiguous U.S. excluding ND, AL, HI, and PR.
  • Preferred: PowerShell or Bash scripting, SOC 2 familiarity, security certifications or project experience, mentoring experience, and certifications such as Microsoft 365 Endpoint Administrator, Google Workspace Administrator, CompTIA Security+, or ITIL Foundation.

  • $110,000–$120,000 salary range, based on relevant experience.
