Description

  • Lead database architecture and design initiatives for scalable, high-performance, reliable solutions.
  • Design, automate, and maintain database infrastructure supporting mission-critical applications.
  • Use AI/ML techniques to improve performance optimization, capacity planning, anomaly detection, predictive maintenance, and automation.
  • Develop and maintain monitoring, alerting, backup, and disaster recovery systems.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex database issues and provide operational support, including on-call coverage.
  • Ensure compliance through database audits, assessments, and governance reviews.
  • Collaborate with development and infrastructure teams to deliver resilient and secure data platforms.
  • Mentor junior database engineers and provide technical leadership.
  • Support global teams across multiple time zones.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8+ years of hands-on database administration, management, and performance optimization experience.
  • Deep expertise in MySQL, including design, configuration, security, troubleshooting, maintenance, backup/recovery, replication, and performance tuning.
  • Strong automation and cloud experience with Bash, Python, or Ruby scripting.
  • Experience managing large-scale AWS environments and cloud-native database services such as RDS and Aurora.
  • Experience building database observability solutions using tools such as PMM, New Relic, VividCortex, or similar platforms.
  • Expertise in high-availability and disaster recovery solutions, including failover clustering and Orchestrator.
  • Preferred experience with PostgreSQL or MongoDB.
  • Preferred experience with configuration management tools such as Chef or Puppet, Terraform, and GitHub-based workflows.
  • Relevant database administration or automation certifications are preferred.
