Description

  • Lead and mentor a team of Software Developers while providing technical guidance.
  • Design and develop web-based and mobile software products for Common App.
  • Implement high-quality software products that meet the needs of the Common Application community.
  • Provide architecture guidance and influence frontend standards across the organization.
  • Advise on backend, API, and database strategy and enterprise-level implementations.
  • Guide organizational CI/CD strategy and cloud architecture decisions.
  • Shape Agile practices and software development standards across teams.
  • Oversee debugging, troubleshooting, and resolution of production issues.
  • Evaluate proof-of-concept solutions and recommend adoption approaches.
  • Provide guidance on secure coding practices, security architecture, and compliance.

Requirements

  • Must live in the United States.
  • Willing to travel for twice-annual Common App Retreats.
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent education and experience.
  • 8-10 years of successful, progressive experience in software development.
  • 6-8 years of people management experience.
  • Advanced proficiency in web application development using JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and modern SPA frameworks such as Angular and TypeScript.
  • Expertise in backend and API development using REST, C#, .NET Core, ORMs, Domain Driven Design, and Dependency Injection.
  • Expertise with relational and non-relational databases, including MySQL and AWS DynamoDB.
  • Advanced proficiency with CI/CD tools such as AWS CodeBuild, AWS Lambda, CloudFormation, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, and GitHub.
  • Advanced proficiency with AWS services including Fargate/ECS, S3, SWF, Step Functions, SQS, SES, ElastiCache, CloudFront, EC2, Serverless Lambda, VPC, and DynamoDB.
  • Expertise in Agile development environments and across the software development lifecycle, including code reviews, branching strategies, deployments, and QA practices.
  • Expertise in debugging production environments and evaluating complex POC solutions.
  • Advanced understanding of OWASP Top 10 security vulnerabilities and secure coding practices.
  • AWS Solution Architect certification preferred.
