Description

  • Own end-to-end technical integration design and execution for enterprise customers from initial scoping through production deployment.
  • Lead technical discovery, scoping, proof-of-concept work, and feasibility validation during pre-sales cycles.
  • Create technical proposals and estimates for prospective customer implementations.
  • Design system architectures that connect customer IT environments with Cohere’s platform.
  • Make architectural decisions that balance customer constraints with platform capabilities.
  • Work hands-on with AI/ML-enabled healthcare features while ensuring regulatory compliance and clinical safety.
  • Produce integration designs, architecture diagrams, data mappings, API implementation guides, and operational runbooks.
  • Build reusable integration patterns and templates that can scale across customers.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Product, Solutions Architecture, and Customer Success to drive go-live outcomes.
  • Mentor junior team members and help improve platform capabilities based on implementation learnings.

Requirements

  • 6–10+ years of software engineering experience with a strong backend/systems focus.
  • Healthcare industry experience, especially on the payer side (health plans, managed care organizations).
  • Strong knowledge of healthcare workflows, data standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Deep expertise in data architecture and integration patterns, including data modeling, transformation logic, schema design, middleware, message queues, and event-driven architectures.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS services such as Lambda, ECS, RDS, S3, API Gateway, and EventBridge.
  • Strong API integration and authentication experience with RESTful APIs, webhooks, OAuth2/OIDC, SAML 2.0, JWT, mTLS, and API key management.
  • Production coding experience in Python, Node.js, Java, Go, or similar languages.
  • Experience working directly with enterprise customers in technical implementation roles.
  • Ability to work with ambiguity, define problems, propose solutions, and execute independently.
  • Experience with prior authorization platforms, utilization management systems, or claims processing is a plus.
  • Familiarity with healthcare data standards such as FHIR, X12 (837, 278, 275), or HL7v2 is a plus.
  • AI/ML integration experience, including LLMs or model deployment, is a plus.
  • Infrastructure-as-code experience with Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar tools is a plus.
  • Experience in regulated environments such as HIPAA, SOC2, or HITRUST is a plus.
  • Database expertise with SQL and NoSQL systems such as PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or DynamoDB is a plus.
  • Identity and access management experience, including SSO, federated identity, RBAC, and multi-tenancy security patterns, is a plus.
