Description

  • Define product quality metrics and build a multi-quarter QA roadmap.
  • Execute the QA roadmap and hold the team accountable to delivery and outcomes.
  • Expand test coverage based on risk and customer impact across Linux packages and multi-distro environments.
  • Own the test system infrastructure and resource strategy.
  • Drive adoption of AI tooling across test generation, automation, and failure triage.
  • Restructure on-call and on-duty rotations to be equitable and sustainable.
  • Mentor SDETs to become product quality engineers who own subsystems end-to-end.
  • Create clear career growth paths within the QA function.
  • Collaborate closely with developers to turn quality signals into actionable priorities.
  • Improve test reliability, automation, and reporting across the QA workflow.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of test automation experience.
  • 2+ years leading a QA team of 3+ engineers.
  • Deep experience with Linux-based product testing, including RPM/DEB packages, systemd, and multi-distro test matrices.
  • Strong Python skills, with Python used for the test framework and tooling.
  • Proven record of significantly improving test reliability and coverage metrics.
  • Experience building or integrating AI/ML into QA workflows with shipped results.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipeline architecture, especially Jenkins Pipelines; GitLab CI migration experience is relevant.
  • Fluent in Linux CLI and shell scripting.
  • Upper-Intermediate English (B2) or higher.
  • Strategic thinking, delegation, data-driven execution, and a strong automation mindset.
  • Nice to have: VM orchestration or cloud infrastructure testing experience.
  • Nice to have: experience testing security patches, package updates, and kernel-level patches for Linux distributions.
  • Nice to have: experience with multi-distro Linux testing matrices at scale.
  • Nice to have: hands-on experience with RPM, DEB, or APK packaging, repository management, and security advisory formats such as OVAL and CSAF.
  • Nice to have: understanding of vulnerability lifecycle work, including CVE intake, patch validation, regression testing, and advisory generation.
