Description

  • Design, build, test, and operate reliable payment systems and services.
  • Integrate with complex global partner APIs and develop resilient payment interfaces.
  • Develop and scale event-driven microservices.
  • Improve system performance, scalability, observability, and cost efficiency.
  • Apply secure-by-design practices and support PCI and data privacy compliance.
  • Collaborate with engineers, leadership, and non-technical stakeholders on high-visibility projects.
  • Troubleshoot production issues, communicate clearly under pressure, and contribute to rapid resolutions.
  • Use metrics, experiments, and prototypes to guide technical decisions.
  • Share knowledge and continuously improve engineering practices across the team.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of PHP web application software engineering experience.
  • 2+ years of experience with MySQL or PostgreSQL; database tuning and optimization preferred.
  • 1+ years of experience designing and developing event-driven microservices in PHP or Java.
  • Experience with DataDog, GitHub Actions, Kubernetes, Docker, AWS, Terraform, or ArgoCD.
  • Strong knowledge of software engineering best practices, design patterns, and automated testing.
  • Experience with secure software engineering and regulated environments; PCI-DSS familiarity preferred.
  • Experience building large-scale solutions and applying Domain-Driven Design preferred.
  • Payments and/or travel industry experience preferred.
  • Strong business judgment and ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Must be authorized to work in the job location without visa sponsorship.

  • Annual US compensation of $130,000–$160,000, with packages above this range considered.
