Description

  • Own the full sales cycle from inbound lead to close for sub-250 employee accounts, with an emphasis on speed, technical depth, and conversion quality.
  • Engage with data engineers, platform teams, and technical founders to assess use cases, data volumes, query patterns, and infrastructure needs.
  • Troubleshoot schema design, ingestion patterns, and integration challenges during customer evaluations.
  • Act as a trusted technical advisor during the evaluation process rather than a traditional sales representative.
  • Identify expansion opportunities within the self-serve and product-led customer base and convert usage signals into commercial relationships.
  • Partner with Solutions Engineers on complex evaluations and advocate for customer needs internally with Product and Engineering.
  • Maintain detailed pipeline hygiene in Salesforce, including technical context, decision criteria, stakeholders, and next steps.
  • Contribute to playbooks, objection-handling guides, and onboarding materials that help scale successful approaches.
  • Participate in developer community events, technical meetups, and online forums where users gather.

Requirements

  • Technical background gained through experience as a data engineer, solutions engineer/architect, software engineer, or similar role.
  • Comfort with the modern data stack, including columnar databases, streaming ingestion tools like Kafka or Kinesis, cloud infrastructure, and SQL-heavy analytics workflows.
  • Hands-on experience with ClickHouse, DuckDB, Druid, Pinot, BigQuery, Snowflake, or similar tools is a strong plus.
  • Customer-facing experience in pre-sales, technical account management, solutions engineering, or customer success.
  • Ability to work in short sales cycles and drive urgency without being pushy.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to simplify complex concepts for technical audiences.
  • Curiosity about the business side of technology and why companies buy.
  • Ownership mentality and comfort operating autonomously without a playbook.
  • Prior closing experience is not required, but technical credibility is non-negotiable.
