Description

  • Own the full sales cycle from inbound lead to close for commercial accounts under 250 employees.
  • Engage with data engineers, platform teams, and technical founders to understand use cases and map them to ClickHouse capabilities.
  • Troubleshoot schema design, ingestion, and integration questions during the evaluation process.
  • Identify expansion opportunities within the self-serve and product-led customer base and convert usage signals into commercial deals.
  • Partner with Solutions Engineers on complex evaluations and advocate for customer needs with Product and Engineering.
  • Maintain accurate pipeline hygiene and document technical context, decision criteria, stakeholders, and next steps in Salesforce.
  • Contribute to sales playbooks, technical objection handling guides, and onboarding materials.
  • Participate in developer community events, technical meetups, and online forums.

Requirements

  • Technical background from experience as a data engineer, solutions engineer/architect, software engineer, or similar role.
  • Comfort with the modern data stack, including columnar databases, streaming ingestion tools like Kafka or Kinesis, cloud infrastructure, and SQL-heavy analytics workflows.
  • Hands-on experience with ClickHouse, DuckDB, Druid, Pinot, BigQuery, Snowflake, or similar tools is a strong plus.
  • Some customer-facing experience in pre-sales, technical account management, solutions engineering, or customer success.
  • Ability to move quickly in short sales cycles and remove technical blockers without being pushy.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex concepts clearly to engineers.
  • Curiosity about the business side of technology and why companies buy.
  • Ownership mentality with comfort operating autonomously, making judgment calls without a playbook, and learning from mistakes.
  • Prior closing experience is not required, but technical credibility is non-negotiable.
