Description

  • Define and evolve the organization’s reference architecture for scalable, resilient, maintainable, and secure systems.
  • Lead the Architecture Decision Records (ADR) process by documenting and communicating key technical decisions and context.
  • Evaluate and recommend technologies, integration patterns, and architectural approaches such as microservices, event-driven, and API-first.
  • Define API design standards across REST, GraphQL, gRPC, and AsyncAPI to keep contracts consistent and versionable.
  • Ensure systems produce well-structured, traceable data for consumption by the data team in close collaboration with the Data Architect.
  • Assess technical debt and build modernization and refactoring roadmaps.
  • Define and implement the organization’s DevOps and engineering platform strategy from repositories through production deployment.
  • Establish code repository standards, CI/CD pipelines, environment promotion flows, and infrastructure as code practices on Azure.
  • Define integration standards for synchronous and asynchronous communication, including APIs, messaging, webhooks, and third-party systems.
  • Drive technical leadership practices such as code review, pair programming, design reviews, technical roadmaps, engineering metrics, onboarding, and documentation.
  • Set policies for secrets, certificates, and credentials management, and ensure test coverage standards are part of the team’s definition of done.
  • Act as a technical reference for leadership, translating technical complexity into clear business language and supporting long-term platform strategy.

Requirements

  • Solid experience as a Software Architect or Senior Engineer with strong architectural responsibility.
  • Strong command of software architecture patterns including microservices, event-driven, hexagonal, CQRS, saga, and API Gateway.
  • Proven experience with Microsoft Azure as the primary platform, including App Services, AKS, Service Bus, API Management, and Key Vault.
  • Experience designing and governing APIs with REST, versioning, and OpenAPI/Swagger documentation.
  • Strong DevOps and CI/CD experience with Azure DevOps or GitHub Actions.
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
  • Solid knowledge of at least one backend stack: .NET, Java, Python, or Node.js.
  • Experience with messaging and event-driven architectures using Service Bus, Event Hub, Kafka, or equivalents.
  • Experience leading engineering teams technically.
  • Experience defining standards for code quality, testing, and technical documentation.
  • Experience with Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) and Docker is a plus.
  • Familiarity with API Management platforms such as Azure APIM is a plus.
  • Knowledge of data contracts and integration with data platforms such as Data Lake or Lakehouse is a plus.
  • Experience applying Domain-Driven Design (DDD) in real projects is a plus.
  • Knowledge of DORA metrics and high-performance engineering practices is a plus.
  • Experience with observability tools such as OpenTelemetry, Jaeger, Grafana, or Datadog is a plus.
  • Experience working in regulated sectors such as finance, healthcare, or legal is a plus.
