Description

  • Own ChargePoint’s global revenue accounting function, including strategy, compliance, reporting, and operational accountability under ASC 606 and US GAAP.
  • Lead technical accounting for complex revenue topics such as multi-element arrangements, variable consideration, principal-versus-agent assessments, contract modifications, and CECL reserves under ASC 326.
  • Oversee NetSuite ERP Advanced Revenue Management (ARM) configuration, automation, and continuous optimization of revenue recognition schedules and rules.
  • Build and lead Revenue Desk and Deals Desk functions to support Sales, Legal, and Finance on deal structuring, non-standard terms, and revenue impact analysis.
  • Own the contract review process for new and amended customer agreements and assess accounting implications at scale.
  • Drive revenue analytics, including cohort analysis, disaggregation reporting, bookings-to-revenue bridges, ARR/MRR tracking, and ad hoc executive analysis.
  • Lead revenue operations activities such as month-end close, flux analysis, reconciliations, forecasting coordination, and external revenue disclosures.
  • Partner with IT and Systems teams to define and execute the revenue automation and AI adoption roadmap, including financial technology improvements and reporting automation.
  • Support M&A due diligence, purchase accounting for revenue-related items, and integration of acquired entities.
  • Monitor emerging accounting standards and develop, maintain, and implement global revenue accounting policies and team development plans.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
  • CPA is required; MBA or an advanced degree is a plus.
  • 12+ years of progressive revenue accounting experience, including Big 4 public accounting and senior in-house leadership at a public company.
  • Deep expertise in ASC 606 and US GAAP, including complex multi-element arrangements, variable consideration, licensing, and SaaS/technology business models.
  • ASC 326 (CECL) experience is strongly preferred.
  • Hands-on experience independently researching, drafting, and defending technical accounting memos on complex ASC 606, CECL, and US GAAP topics.
  • Experience arguing accounting positions directly with Big 4 auditors and SEC reviewers.
  • Demonstrated executive leadership owning a global revenue accounting function, including revenue close, revenue operations, deals desk, contract review, and external reporting.
  • Hands-on experience with NetSuite Advanced Revenue Management (ARM), including configuration, optimization, and troubleshooting.
  • Demonstrated interest in and experience using AI tools for analytics, workflow automation, and reporting efficiency.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience building and interpreting revenue cohort analysis, ARR/MRR bridges, bookings-to-revenue waterfalls, and disaggregation reports.
  • Proven experience building and scaling high-performing global teams, including organizational design, talent development, and succession planning.
  • Exceptional communication skills and executive presence, with the ability to present complex accounting topics to the CFO, Audit Committee, auditors, and investors.
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration skills with Sales, Legal, IT, FP&A, and external auditors.

Benefits

  • Targeted U.S. base salary range of $202,000 to $300,000.
