Description

  • Design and build key features and architectural improvements end-to-end, from discovery through production support.
  • Write production code daily in critical services, pipelines, and frameworks using cloud-native patterns and technologies.
  • Mentor developers through design reviews, pair programming, and code reviews.
  • Develop deep expertise in the platform’s technology and architecture to inform technical decisions.
  • Collaborate with Product and Engineering to clarify requirements, risks, trade-offs, and technical uncertainty.
  • Champion engineering excellence by keeping trunk/master stable, green, and deployable through strong CI/CD, testing, and operational practices.
  • Coordinate with DevOps and CloudOps teams to ensure the squad has the tooling, infrastructure, and support needed to ship confidently.
  • Own production reliability for squad-managed systems through post-mortems and root cause analysis.
  • Provide 24/7 production support for systems managed by the team.
  • Integrate AI-assisted development into the team’s workflow and help design and instrument AI-powered developer tooling.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with Java 17+ (Spring Boot), microservice architecture, and enterprise SaaS applications on AWS.
  • Extensive experience building and evolving cloud-native data analytics platforms in production.
  • Strong system design expertise in distributed systems, event-driven architectures, and large-scale data processing.
  • Deep knowledge of analytics workflows with a focus on performance and correctness.
  • An AI-native mindset with comfort using AI-powered tools for planning, design, troubleshooting, code generation, debugging, and knowledge discovery.
  • Proficiency using agentic code generation tools in a daily IDE workflow.
  • Experience using conversational AI assistants for pair programming, design discussion, debugging, and documentation.
  • Ability to critically evaluate AI-generated output for correctness, security, and alignment with team standards.
  • Proven ability to influence architecture, drive cross-team alignment, and lead initiatives beyond immediate scope.
  • Comfort operating in ambiguity and communicating risks and trade-offs clearly.
  • Experience with Angular 16+, NestJS, GraphQL, AWS EKS, AWS Step Functions, SNS/SQS, S3, Lake Formation, DynamoDB, AWS Lambda, GitHub Actions, Nx, Jira/Confluence, and Microsoft 365.
