Description

  • Hire, onboard, train, mentor, supervise, and evaluate HIT/HIM faculty.
  • Manage program operations, objectives, staffing, timekeeping, and service standards.
  • Oversee program success metrics, including graduation, placement, retention, and certification pass rates.
  • Support accreditation compliance and assist with the CAHIIM Annual Program Assessment Report.
  • Conduct program reviews, classroom observations, surveys, assessments, and faculty development.
  • Develop, review, and maintain curriculum, syllabi, textbooks, Canvas content, and instructional materials.
  • Collaborate with the Dean of Healthcare and VP of Education to improve programs and instructional quality.
  • Teach live online and asynchronous courses, provide coverage, and support student engagement.
  • Promote an ethical, inclusive, collaborative, and student-centered learning environment.
  • Analyze data, develop program metrics, resolve problems, and contribute to departmental goals.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree required, preferably in Health Informatics, Healthcare Administration, or a related field.
  • RHIA certification required.
  • 2–3 years of management experience, ideally in higher education.
  • Experience with curriculum development required.
  • Advanced subject matter expertise preferred.
  • Canvas experience preferred, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office and Microsoft Teams.
  • Strong analytical, research, problem-solving, organizational, communication, and business judgment skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively, manage multiple priorities, exercise independent judgment, and maintain confidentiality.
  • Knowledge of higher education trends, instructional strategies, academic policies, and inclusive teaching practices.
  • Ability to work a 40-hour-plus week when needed, including occasional evenings, weekends, or responsibilities outside normal hours.
  • Ability to work remotely while residing in California, New Mexico, Florida, or Massachusetts, with reliable transportation for required campus visits or events.
  • Current certification in subjects taught and ability to deliver engaging online instruction.
