Description

  • Identify, plan, and implement developer tooling and infrastructure automation.
  • Operate and improve development, testing, and production infrastructure.
  • Participate in on-call rotations and troubleshoot platform and infrastructure issues.
  • Set technical direction for infrastructure decisions and contribute to DevOps strategy and quarterly planning.
  • Scope, estimate, track, and manage infrastructure projects while controlling scope creep.
  • Improve CI/CD, access control, observability, incident response, database replication, benchmarking, and cost engineering systems.
  • Optimize AWS infrastructure for cost, scalability, durability, availability, and fault tolerance.
  • Mentor engineers and support the team’s technical growth.
  • Collaborate with technical teams and stakeholders to communicate infrastructure trade-offs and deploy reliable products.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience in developer tooling, CI/CD, site reliability, or infrastructure engineering roles.
  • Experience leading technical design and setting technical direction.
  • Ability to communicate technical decisions and trade-offs to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience designing scalable, efficient, cost-conscious, and fault-tolerant systems.
  • Experience mentoring engineers or providing informal people leadership.
  • Ability to work autonomously through ambiguity using asynchronous communication.
  • Experience scoping and estimating technical work.
  • Experience supporting applications written in Python, Java, or Ruby.
  • Experience with infrastructure as code and pipelines as code, including Terraform or Helm.
  • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, AWS, Linux administration, and production observability tools such as Datadog, Honeycomb, Sensu, or New Relic.
  • Preferred: expertise in IAM, hybrid RBAC/ABAC environments, AWS RDS or Aurora, and SOC 2, HIPAA, or HITRUST controls.
  • Applicants must be located in the continental United States.
