Description

  • Develop and maintain data models for core application and reporting databases.
  • Monitor daily pipeline execution and performance, and triage or escalate issues as needed.
  • Collaborate with analytics and business teams to improve data models and data pipelines that support business intelligence tools.
  • Implement processes and systems to monitor data quality and keep production data accurate and available.
  • Write unit and integration tests and contribute to engineering documentation and wiki content.
  • Perform data analysis to troubleshoot data-related issues and support issue resolution.
  • Work within AWS/Linux cloud environments to support data integration solutions.
  • Collaborate closely with frontend and backend engineers, product managers, and analysts.
  • Share knowledge and provide visibility into work progress and accomplishments.
  • Follow directions and support teamwork across the engineering group.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in data pipeline development using SnapLogic, Datastage, Informatica, or related tools.
  • 3+ years of SQL experience; NoSQL experience is a plus.
  • Experience with AWS services such as S3, Athena, EC2, EMR, and Glue.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues with running clusters and always-on services.
  • Experience integrating data from multiple data sources.
  • Experience with databases and RDBMS platforms such as SQL Server, Redshift, Postgres, RDS, Oracle, MySQL, or PostgreSQL.
  • Experience with one or more data integration platforms such as Pentaho Kettle, SnapLogic, Talend OpenStudio, Jitterbit, or Informatica PowerCenter.
  • Knowledge of Agile software development methodologies.
  • Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, oral communication, and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of data governance, data quality, business analytics, integration architecture, web services, and version control tools such as Git.
  • Experience with BI tools such as GoodData, Tableau, or PowerBI is preferred.
  • Experience with SaaS/cloud data systems such as Salesforce is preferred.
  • Experience with data warehouse design concepts such as star schemas, change data capture, and denormalization.
  • Experience with SQL/DDL tuning techniques such as indexing, sorting, and distribution.
  • BS or MS degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
