Description

  • Lead architecture for scalable systems across off-platform workflows, cleanrooms, taxonomy automation, and the Ads Data Solutions Platform.
  • Co-own the technical roadmap and drive modernization of data solutions infrastructure.
  • Expand and harden integrations with external advertising platforms.
  • Design privacy-forward activation, identity, and measurement workflows for off-platform advertising.
  • Extend cleanroom orchestration, governance tooling, and reusable query and partner configurations.
  • Lead automation improvements for ads taxonomy intake and release workflows.
  • Improve platform foundations, including CI/CD, observability, testing, and cost efficiency.
  • Use AI-assisted tools in design, coding, testing, and documentation, and define team AI workflows.
  • Mentor engineers up to L5 and raise code quality and review standards.
  • Partner with Product, Data Science, Data Platform, Governance, Privacy/Legal, and external platforms to deliver cross-team initiatives.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of software engineering experience, typically 10+ for this level, delivering and operating large-scale backend or data systems.
  • Proven experience leading cross-team projects and making architectural decisions.
  • Strong proficiency in Python and either Ruby or Go.
  • Experience building services and APIs using REST or gRPC.
  • Experience with third-party advertising platform APIs such as Meta, Google, or The Trade Desk.
  • Experience with data pipelines using DBT and Airflow.
  • Experience with Spark or Databricks, advanced SQL, and performance tuning.
  • Experience with Snowflake and AWS, plus cost-aware design and workflow orchestration tools such as Temporal.
  • Experience with ad-tech, programmatic measurement integrations, cleanrooms, and identity or matching systems such as UID2 or RampID.
  • Working knowledge of privacy and compliance practices such as GDPR and CCPA.
  • Experience with CI/CD, containers, test strategy, observability tools such as Datadog, and incident readiness or SLO planning.
  • Recent hands-on use of AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or OpenAI-based assistants.
  • Experience defining reusable prompts or workflows for team use and contributing to AI-enabled internal tools or automation.
  • Ability to evaluate when to use AI versus deterministic systems, including awareness of evaluation, guardrails, security, and privacy implications.
  • Clear technical writing skills and strong stakeholder management and consensus-building abilities.
  • Preferred: direct experience with UID2/TTD integrations, Roku, Pubmatic, NBCU, Meta Advanced Analytics, or Google ADH pipelines.
  • Preferred: experience with catalog, taxonomy, entity lineage, or custom hierarchy systems.
  • Preferred: experience with Snowflake governance patterns and partner data collaboration at scale.
  • Preferred: experience with vendor or partner management and external API certification programs.
  • Preferred: experience building AI-powered internal tools such as Slackbots or data assistants.

Benefits

  • Remote role with Flex First work flexibility.
  • Base pay range of $196,000 to $207,000 USD for Canadian candidates, depending on permanent work location.
  • Highly market-competitive compensation and benefits.

  • Opportunity to work remotely from approved Canadian provinces: Ontario, Alberta, British Columbia, and Nova Scotia.
