Description

  • Develop and maintain data models for core application and reporting databases.
  • Monitor daily pipeline execution and performance, triage issues, and escalate problems when needed.
  • Collaborate with analytics and business teams to improve data models and data pipelines that support business intelligence tools.
  • Implement processes to monitor data quality and ensure production data is accurate and available.
  • Write unit and integration tests, contribute to the engineering wiki, and document work.
  • Perform data analysis to troubleshoot data-related issues and support issue resolution.
  • Work within AWS/Linux cloud environments to support data integration solutions.
  • Collaborate closely with frontend and backend engineers, product managers, and analysts.
  • Share knowledge and provide visibility into accomplishments while following team direction.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in data pipeline development using tools such as SnapLogic, Datastage, Informatica, or similar.
  • 3+ years of SQL experience; NoSQL experience is a plus.
  • Experience designing, building, and maintaining data pipelines.
  • Experience with AWS services including S3, Athena, EC2, EMR, and Glue.
  • Ability to solve issues involving cluster operation and performance.
  • Experience integrating data from multiple data sources.
  • Experience with databases and RDBMS platforms such as SQL Server, Redshift, Postgres, RDS, Oracle, and MySQL.
  • Experience with data integration platforms such as Pentaho Kettle, SnapLogic, Talend OpenStudio, Jitterbit, or Informatica PowerCenter, or similar.
  • Knowledge of Agile software development methodologies.
  • Excellent problem-solving, troubleshooting, oral, and written communication skills with strong customer service orientation.
  • Awareness of data governance and data quality principles.
  • Understanding of integration architecture, including data flow diagrams, source-to-target mappings, and data dictionary reports.
  • Familiarity with web services such as XML, REST, and SOAP.
  • Experience with Git or similar version control software.
  • Experience with BI tools such as GoodData, Tableau, or PowerBI is preferred.
  • Familiarity with SaaS/cloud data systems such as Salesforce.
  • Experience with data warehouse design concepts including star schemas, change data capture, and denormalization.
  • SQL/DDL tuning experience, including indexing, sorting, and distribution.
  • BS or MS degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
