Description

  • Develop and maintain data models for application and reporting databases to support documentation, custom development, and data integration.
  • Monitor the execution and performance of daily data pipelines and triage or escalate issues as needed.
  • Collaborate with analytics and business teams to improve data models and pipelines that feed business intelligence tools.
  • Implement processes and systems to monitor data quality and ensure production data remains accurate and available.
  • Write unit and integration tests and contribute to engineering wiki and technical documentation.
  • Perform data analysis to troubleshoot data-related issues and assist in resolving data incidents.
  • Work within AWS/Linux cloud environments to support data integration solutions.
  • Collaborate closely with frontend and backend engineers, product managers, and analysts.
  • Participate in team knowledge sharing, communicate progress, and follow direction when provided.

Requirements

  • Experience with AWS services such as S3, Athena, EC2, EMR, and Glue.
  • Ability to resolve ongoing issues with cluster operations.
  • Experience integrating data from multiple data sources.
  • Experience with database technologies such as SQL Server, Redshift, Postgres, and RDS.
  • Experience with data integration platforms such as Pentaho Kettle, SnapLogic, Talend OpenStudio, Jitterbit, Informatica PowerCenter, or similar.
  • Knowledge of best practices and IT operations for always-on, highly available services.
  • Experience with Agile software development methodologies.
  • Excellent problem-solving, troubleshooting, oral communication, written communication, and customer service skills.
  • Experience collecting, managing, and reporting on large data stores.
  • Awareness of data governance and data quality principles.
  • Business analytics experience, including basic metric building and troubleshooting.
  • Understanding of integration architecture, including application integration, data flow diagrams, source-to-target mappings, and data dictionary reports.
  • Familiarity with web services such as XML, REST, and SOAP.
  • Experience with Git or similar version control software.
  • Experience with BI tools such as GoodData, Tableau, PowerBI, or similar, preferred.
  • Broad experience with multiple RDBMS platforms including MS SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, and Redshift.
  • Familiarity with SaaS/cloud data systems such as Salesforce.
  • Experience with data warehouse design concepts such as star schemas, change data capture, and denormalization.
  • Experience with SQL/DDL queries and tuning techniques such as indexing, sorting, and distribution.
  • BS or MS degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
  • 3+ years of data pipeline development experience with tools such as SnapLogic, Datastage, Informatica, or related platforms.
  • 3+ years of SQL experience; No-SQL experience is a plus.
  • Experience designing, building, and maintaining data pipelines.
