Description

  • Support the technical and value aspects of the sales effort across the territory through presentations, architecture discussions, competitive displacement, proof-of-concepts, RFP/RFI responses, demonstrations, and technical workshops.
  • Support the transition of sales opportunities into successful delivery by Professional Services and partner teams.
  • Research, network, and develop regional expertise to become a go-to resource for future solution opportunities, product roadmap input, and thought leadership.
  • Present and promote Axon’s technical and business value propositions at industry events.
  • Develop deep technical knowledge of Axon products and domain expertise in the relevant technology area.
  • Document customer feature requests and issues and provide feedback to Sales and Product Management.
  • Support product test and evaluation activities and proof-of-concept engagements.
  • Execute customer site assessments, including technology infrastructure assessments.
  • Transfer industry, technical, and product knowledge to customers and colleagues.
  • Proactively plan to prevent pre-sales and post-sales issues and shorten time to revenue.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience as a Sales Engineer, Systems Engineer, Network Engineer, or in a similar related field.
  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Computer Science or Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in one or more specializations such as Digital Video, Mobile communications, IP Engineering, IP security, Embedded Systems, IAM, or SaaS.
  • Strong understanding of CCTV systems, VMS, network technologies, and IP stack concepts such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, firewalls, VPN gateways, and proxies.
  • High technical knowledge of computing infrastructure components, data centers, and systems support.
  • Experience with data integration and data analysis to support an expanding product portfolio.
  • Experience with large-scale infrastructure-as-a-service platforms such as Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure, or OpenStack.
  • Demonstrable project management experience delivering successful proof-of-concepts.
  • Fluent English communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Willingness to travel significantly, including about 50% travel and some international travel.
  • Valid passport, clean driving license, Australian citizenship, and ability to pass a federal police background check.
  • Accredited presales methodology certification such as Demo2Win!, Great Demo, or Mastering Technical Sales is an advantage.
  • Experience supporting, selling, or deploying digital evidence collection, management, and sensor products is an advantage.
  • Experience working with public safety, government, or the public sector is an advantage.
  • Experience working effectively remotely, independently, and within a team is an advantage.
