Description

  • Serve as the technical subject-matter expert for Avertium’s service portfolio and advise customers on the best-fit security, compliance, and risk solutions.
  • Lead technical discovery, requirements gathering, and solution design for opportunities ranging from add-on engagements to multi-phase security programs.
  • Translate customer challenges into phased, roadmap-driven Avertium solutions and communicate the company’s value as a strategic partner.
  • Author custom Statements of Work and detailed line-item Work Breakdown Structures with accurate hours, scope boundaries, assumptions, and exclusions.
  • Produce pricing and service configurations that maintain the right scope and margin for each opportunity.
  • Develop reusable offerings, accelerators, starter kits, runbooks, and WBS templates to scale repeatable engagements.
  • Prepare and lead technical meetings, demonstrations, bake-offs, webinars, and executive presentations for technical and C-suite audiences.
  • Facilitate Microsoft Envisioning Workshops end to end, including development, maintenance, tailoring, and delivery across the engagement lifecycle.
  • Build and maintain channel-partner, technology-advisor, and CSP relationships that generate new-logo and expansion pipeline.
  • Act as the technical quarterback for AE pipelines, maintain Salesforce records, support forecasting and pipeline reviews, and ensure a clean handoff to delivery.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in information security, IT security, or IT administration, including customer-facing or pre-sales technical work.
  • Demonstrated ability to scope and document security engagements, including SOWs, WBS documents with hours, and technical proposals.
  • Hands-on familiarity with the Microsoft security stack, including Entra/IAM and at least one of Purview or Intune.
  • Working knowledge of at least one major compliance framework such as CMMC/NIST 800-171, NIST CSF, or ISO 27001.
  • Understanding of enterprise security concepts and technologies such as MDR/EDR, email security, and SOC operations.
  • Knowledge of data governance and data protection best practices.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to present to and influence C-suite stakeholders.
  • Proficiency with Salesforce or similar CRM-based opportunity management and disciplined documentation habits.
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with coworkers, clients, and partners.
  • CISSP is the baseline security credential for this role and is required or strongly preferred.
  • Microsoft certifications aligned to the role are strongly preferred, including SC-400, SC-300, MD-102, SC-200, and SC-100.
  • Additional preferred certifications include SC-900, MS-102, CISM, CISA, CMMC (CCP/CCA), ISO 27001, and SentinelOne certifications.
  • Preferred experience includes depth in Microsoft Purview, Entra ID, the Microsoft Entra Suite, Microsoft Defender XDR, Microsoft Defender for Cloud, Azure security architecture, AI security, and Microsoft 365 migrations or Copilot adoption.
  • Preferred experience also includes third-party risk / vendor-risk scoping, partner-led sales motions, workshop facilitation, and teaching or enabling technical content.
  • Preferred territory is the central / mid-west region.
  • This position requires up to 25% travel, including overnight travel as needed.
