Description

  • Engage with product development teams to meet quality expectations for AIS products.
  • Drive product engineering activities, including process development, verification, validation, and qualification of parts, processes, and sub-assemblies.
  • Resolve development ambiguities related to product maturity, process stability, and field performance that affect quality and reliability goals.
  • Champion the transition from new product introduction to a sustainable, predictable high-rate manufacturing process and supply chain.
  • Own the identification and elimination of product quality risks across the product lifecycle, from concept through field use.
  • Ensure execution of product and process requirements and help define and improve those requirements.
  • Partner cross-functionally to define and execute the product roadmap.
  • Lead root cause and corrective action (RCCA) and material review board (MRB) activities and share lessons learned.
  • Lead product health data analysis, establish quality metrics, and drive improvement activities.
  • Support continuous improvement of the Quality Management System, including required documentation and activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a similar technical field.
  • Experience in Engineering, Manufacturing, or Quality in aerospace/defense or similar hardware.
  • Working knowledge of design review and quality management for precision mechanical parts, sub-assemblies, PCBA, harnessing, avionics, systems integration, composites, propulsion systems, and lethality systems.
  • Experience driving product quality and performance requirements into test and measurement system development and optimization.
  • Experience leading the transition from engineering qualification to manufacturing variance testing for product quality coverage.
  • Working knowledge of FMEA, APQP, PPAP, MSA, and GD&T.
  • Working knowledge of mechanical and/or electrical manufacturing processes.
  • Experience applying industry standards and best practices to meet government customer quality expectations.
  • Strong ownership mindset with demonstrated capability to drive projects from start to completion.
  • Analytical skills for data mining, data quality, metrics generation, issue management systems, and statistical analysis tools such as MatLab, JMP, and Minitab.
  • Active U.S. Secret security clearance that can be maintained.
  • Master’s degree in a technical field (preferred).
  • 5-7 years of experience developing quality systems for high-volume, highly complex manufacturing environments and suppliers (preferred).
  • Experience in Engineering, Manufacturing, or Quality for communications systems used for Intelligence Community customers (preferred).
  • Working knowledge of AS9100/ISO 9001-based Quality Management System requirements (preferred).
  • Experience with IPC standards (preferred).
  • Experience with government contracts and military standard requirements (preferred).
  • Experience with Teamcenter, SolidWorks, Jira, Tableau, and Altium or other PCBA and harness design software (preferred).
