Description

  • Provide technical support and relationship management for existing enterprise customers in Japan throughout the partner lifecycle.
  • Partner with Sales and Solutions teams on pre-sales technical discussions, solution design, API consultations, and product use cases.
  • Guide new enterprise customers through API integration, implementation, and onboarding.
  • Translate customer business and technical requirements, especially in Japanese, into clear specifications for the global engineering team.
  • Serve as the technical subject matter expert on the Alpaca platform for customers and stakeholders.
  • Work with compliance and operations teams to understand local and regional requirements such as JFSA rules, NISA, and post-trade or settlement practices.
  • Own technical sales engagements end-to-end, including discovery calls, solution validation, RFPs, security questionnaires, and demo execution.
  • Create sales support materials and documentation, including Japanese-language collateral when needed.
  • Coordinate with local regulators, vendors, and partners in Japanese and relay requirements to global product and engineering teams.
  • Support customer adoption of Alpaca’s platform and travel within Japan or APAC as needed.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience supporting enterprise or B2B customers in a technical, sales engineering, or solutions engineering role, ideally at API or SaaS companies.
  • Strong understanding of REST APIs, SDKs, and software integration workflows, with hands-on experience using APIs, WebSockets, Postman, Grafana, and JSON.
  • Native or business-level Japanese with excellent customer communication skills and understanding of Japanese business culture.
  • Business-level English for collaborating with global, cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to explain complex technical concepts in simple, understandable terms.
  • Self-starter who can manage multiple priorities, work independently, and drive projects to completion with strong attention to detail.
  • Experience in fintech, capital markets, brokerage, or financial APIs, preferably at a broker-dealer or securities firm in Japan or APAC.
  • Knowledge of Japanese brokerage, post-trade, and settlement operations, NISA, and the JFSA regulatory context.
  • Experience closing enterprise deals alongside Account Executives.
  • US securities qualifications such as SIE and/or Series 7 are preferred.
  • Familiarity with Metabase, FIX protocol, OpenAPI, ReadMe, or documentation tools is preferred.
  • Interest in learning more about the securities industry is preferred.
