Description

  • Act as a technical consultant for a variety of customers and deliver ad hoc services tailored to their needs.
  • Scope, shape, and present technical workshops that drive Algolia adoption.
  • Advise customers on best practices for search implementation and optimization.
  • Partner with Customer Success Managers to support long-term customer health and a high-quality support experience.
  • Work across internal teams and escalate issues as needed to confirm solutions or identify alternatives.
  • Partner with Product and Engineering teams to build subject matter expertise and serve as a product expert to customers.
  • Develop, maintain, and present regular case status reports in customer meetings.
  • Proactively identify technical risks and bottlenecks and work with customers to resolve them.
  • Provide guidance on how to optimize customer environments.
  • Support Professional and Expert Foundation offerings as a technical owner for assigned accounts.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience in a customer-facing technical role such as Customer Success Engineer, Sales Engineer, Solutions Architect, or consultant, ideally in SaaS.
  • Functional knowledge of at least one programming language such as JavaScript, Java, PHP, C#, Objective-C, Swift, Ruby, or Python.
  • Experience with REST APIs, database management, and web development technologies.
  • Experience delivering technical workshops, including training, knowledge transfer, implementation, and code review sessions.
  • Strong ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Proficiency communicating technical issues via phone and email.
  • Excellent time management, task prioritization, and urgency assessment skills.
  • A lifelong learning mindset and strong desire to help people solve problems.
  • Occasional travel to customer locations may be required.
  • Preferred: Experience implementing or optimizing search and discovery experiences.
  • Preferred: Experience designing and developing generative AI and agentic applications.
  • Preferred: Experience working in a high-growth SaaS environment.
  • Preferred: Familiarity with iOS and Android platforms.
  • Preferred: Experience supporting open-source projects and GitHub communities.
  • Preferred: Experience with Shopify, Magento, or Salesforce.

  • Annual total cash compensation range of $130,500 to $163,000 AUD, including base salary and commission.
