Description

  • Collaborate with product managers, DevOps, backend engineers, and frontend engineers to solve complex problems and deliver well-designed solutions.
  • Own features from proposal and design through implementation and maintenance.
  • Write clean, maintainable code using engineering best practices.
  • Perform code reviews and help uphold code quality standards across the team.
  • Improve the health of the codebase and help manage technical debt through regular housekeeping.
  • Provide feedback during planning and discussion to surface challenges and unknowns early.
  • Participate in product-making decisions and contribute ideas for product improvements.
  • Work on core backend solutions that power the PerfectScale data pipeline and business logic.

Requirements

  • 6+ years of backend development experience in Go, Java, Rust, or Python.
  • 3+ years of commercial Golang experience.
  • 2+ years of experience with high-traffic or high-load distributed systems and data pipelines.
  • Strong English communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Experience with relational and non-relational databases, including performance, schema, and query optimization.
  • Experience developing enterprise-grade SaaS products, microservices, and containers.
  • Experience with Docker and familiarity with modern DevOps practices such as Kubernetes, GitOps, and CI/CD.
  • Experience and interest in distributed systems design and infrastructure.
  • A knack for benchmarking and optimization.
  • Hands-on production experience with Kubernetes, cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, or data engineering tools such as Spark, Trino, Iceberg, ClickHouse, or Parquet is a plus.
