Description

  • Lead, coach, hire, and develop engineers supporting platform APIs and partner integrations.
  • Define the technical vision and roadmap for enterprise APIs, integration capabilities, schemas, webhooks, authentication, and developer tools.
  • Establish engineering practices for planning, design reviews, testing, deployment, documentation, and production support.
  • Partner with Product, Business Systems, Operations, and external partners to create roadmaps and deliver scalable solutions.
  • Set standards for API versioning, backward compatibility, change management, deprecation, and release communication.
  • Guide partners through solution design, testing, launch readiness, production stabilization, and ongoing integration health.
  • Own delivery of API and integration commitments while managing dependencies, risks, technical debt, and cross-team tradeoffs.
  • Establish operational metrics and strengthen monitoring, alerting, incident response, and root-cause analysis for partner-facing services.
  • Reduce partner-specific customization by developing reusable platform capabilities, documentation, testing tools, and integration patterns.
  • Evolve business capabilities for secure, observable, and governed use by AI agents through MCP and emerging standards.

Requirements

  • Significant experience leading software engineering teams, including managing and developing engineering managers or senior engineers.
  • Experience designing, building, or operating external APIs and enterprise integration platforms.
  • Strong knowledge of REST APIs, webhooks, event-driven architecture, authentication, API gateways, versioning, and integration security.
  • Experience delivering complex integrations across multiple internal systems and external partners.
  • Ability to translate business and partner requirements into scalable technical solutions.
  • Strong understanding of software delivery, testing, observability, incident management, and production operations.
  • Experience managing technical roadmaps, dependencies, risks, and cross-functional delivery.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including explaining technical decisions to nontechnical audiences.
  • Experience in customer- or partner-facing technical discussions and senior stakeholder management.
  • Preferred experience with developer portals, sandboxes, API documentation, SDKs, certification programs, schema-driven platforms, contract testing, platform modernization, or high-volume SaaS integrations.
