Description

  • Lead, develop, and mentor internal and external web engineering teams.
  • Set technical direction, engineering standards, operating practices, and development priorities.
  • Own the web platform strategy, architecture, roadmap, performance, security, accessibility, and reliability.
  • Lead the global website consolidation into a modern headless WordPress architecture targeted for late 2026 or early 2027.
  • Direct technical decisions covering migration, integrations, governance, scalability, and long-term platform sustainability.
  • Partner with Brand, Growth, Marketing, Content, Design, Product, and Technology stakeholders to deliver effective web experiences.
  • Manage external development partners and specialist suppliers.
  • Define and monitor KPIs for performance, conversion, SEO, reliability, and user experience.
  • Connect technology investments to measurable business outcomes while balancing technical debt, innovation, and commercial priorities.
  • Explore AI-enabled web experiences and emerging digital capabilities.

Requirements

  • Significant experience leading web engineering, web technology, or digital development functions.
  • Strong track record managing, mentoring, and developing engineering teams and building high-performing cultures.
  • Experience owning complex websites or digital platforms across multiple brands, markets, or technology environments.
  • Strong knowledge of modern web architecture, CMS platforms, and headless approaches.
  • Essential experience with WordPress, AEM, AWS, Next.js, and TypeScript.
  • Proven experience leading major website transformation, migration, consolidation, or platform programs.
  • Strong understanding of web performance, SEO, accessibility, security, and reliability.
  • Ability to influence senior stakeholders and translate between technical, creative, marketing, and commercial perspectives.
  • Strong commercial awareness and ability to connect technology decisions to measurable outcomes.
  • Sound judgment about when to lead through others and when to take a hands-on role in resolving delivery or technical challenges.
